The old braces are layed in place and marked
With some titebond we apply liberally
Straight edge for alignment
Deck press or clamps to hold in place
Wet rag to clean any glue squeeze out.
Using our top tracing we also make a 3mm mdf external body brace to hold the sides in place
Using some plastic cauls, we find the back braces are 20ft radius,
So we need a 20ft radius dish
Lay our tracing over the top
Band saw to shape a little over the tracing
Centre re-inforcement strips are also rough cut and placed onto the back using the bracing location marks
With some double sided sandpaper on the radius dish, we reprofile shape the braces
P2
We remove our joined back from the jig and center scrape any glue of the join.
Until they are smooth and clean of old glue etc

Placing the braces over our back reinforcement, we mark the edges were we need to remove with just a razor blade
