24hrs later, Scuff sanding the pore fill
Pore filling the grain

Nicely stained, even coat
I restain any spots I went to harsh on my pore filling process

Bassoon Refinishing

Start making some small post hole refacers
Guide post for the cutter
Match them against each other, for visual conformation
Here I am using my post cutter to clean and paint from base of post
You can mask the tone holes if you wish for the stain and paint, I dont

I use the finish to act as a guide coat for when I reface the tone holes to make sure they are smooth and structurally solid

Here I can see one side of the tone hole has worn down over the years
I alter my hand postion to minimise the amount of material I remove, but in the end I have a perfectly refaced tone hole

P2

About 50mls will do to finish the wing joint
First coat of finish is applied to seal the surface
